The Qiwang Belvedere was built on the south of the hill for worshiping the tablet of Confucius.

Function

The Qiwang Belvedere was added to the building complex on the south of the hill during the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty, with a tablet of Confucius consecrated so that the imperial school students could worship the sage.

Form

The Qiwang Belvedere is 5 bays wide and 3 bays deep with a gable-and-hip roof of yellow glazed tiles. A plaque with the Machurian and Chinese inscription of “Qi Wang Lou” (Qiwang Belvedere) is hung on the tower. There is a corridor in front of the eaves, decorated with xuanzi colored paintings and fenced by a white-marble balustrade.
