Conservation

As the core area of Beijing’s Old City,Beijing Central Axis has been guiding the planning of Beijing’s urban spatial layout and the development of its urban landscape since its completion. The People’s Government of Beijing Municipality has implemented comprehensive regulations and conservation plans specifically aimed at protecting and managing Beijing Central Axis and established multi-tiered mechanisms for participation and coordination among multiple parties. Systematic measures have been implemented to protect and manage the urban layout, architecture, landscape, cultural traditions, urban environment of the nominated property area, visual corridors, and surrounding urban environment. Heritage conservation, archeology, environmental rehabilitation, presentation, and monitoring work have been planned and carried out scientifically.
